Our recent investment in the best scanning equipment available has been recognized by the industries premier event, The Document Manager Awards. The IBML ImageTrac III has wiped the floor with the competition and gained the title of Scanning Product of the year. This has certainly proved we have made the right investment for the company and for our clients.
ImageTrac Installed and Tested

The new scanning equipment has now passed a thorough 2 week acceptance test and the accuracy speed and output are all exceeding our expectations. With the new equipment installed and running new and existing customers will shortly see the benefit of our investment in the production speed and cost savings, especially with colour scanning.

Datatron Invests in Superior Scanning Technology

It has been an investment in the making for over a year but after a great deal of detailed research many tests and new software developments, Datatron has invested in the best scanning technology available today, the IBML ImageTrac. The machine received its week long factory acceptance test in Birmingham Alabama by Rob Grainge and David Popay in August and the Scanner is due for delivery in September.
This enterprising investment by Datatron will provide a huge increase in production capacity and image quality; this will mean more competitive pricing for all our customers and the elimination of additional costs for colour scanning. Further announcements will be posted as the scanner receives its on site testing with a date to be announced for an open day for all existing and prospective customers.
With only a handful of these scanners in the UK Datatron is now firmly placed as the North's leading scanning bureau.
ISO 9001 certification retained

A further grueling audit by Lloyds Registrars has resulted in another clear pass for our ISO9001 certification. With some big changes taking place in 2007 we expect further improvements to our process before our next audit in November.

Relocation! Relocation!

The company are planning to relocate to purpose built premises in the later part of 2006. The new building which has been identified will be close to our current office in Newcastle and provide an excellent new working environment. The office will double our storage capacity and provide a much better IT infrastructure. The layout will be more productive for our operation and the environment is bright and welcoming.
The Big Move

The relocation went smoothly on Friday 3rd February with only one working day down time. The new offices are providing a modern & efficient working environment that all the staff are very pleased with. All systems were up and running by Saturday afternoon leaving us Sunday to relax ready for the new start on Monday morning. Phew!!!
New Office Purchase

The purchase of the new office at Orion Business Park North Tyneside has now been finalised. The building will be getting fitted out over the next few months and be ready for our relocation in February 2007.
Datatron Sponsor Hebburn Wanderers

Datatron has adopted 10 new employees but they won't be doing much scanning as they are all under 9 and only good at football. Hebburn Wanderers are a newest team to the hebburn league and were looking for sponsorship to get on their feet. Datatron were happy to help out and as a result the little bunch aren't doing too bad we'll keep you updated.
ISO9001 Passed!!

Datatron achieve ISO 9001:2001 with LRQA. Having operated BIP0008 formally PD0008 for 9 years it didn't take too many changes to get us up to speed with ISO9001. Both standard have similar elements so it was natural to go for the ISO standard as well. We pass with flying colours on 10th August 2005.
We're on the move

Datatron are on the move having been at Ouseburn building since starting in 1996 it was time to leave the nest and find our own premises. The location will still be Newcastle and the new office will be a very large period building on Forth Banks know as the Arches the building offers us much more space to expand and develop.
Datatron Finalist in the IM Awards 2000

In 2000 Datatron were nominated to compete in the industries premier awards for recognition of excellence. The Information Management Awards, the awards cover all aspects of the industry from GIS and Mobile Information Management to Data Warehousing and our category Document Management.
The awards are a fiercely contested prize which attract the global giants to the fold, such as the BBC, Shell Oil and Yellow Pages to name a few that are household names. So it is no mean feat to make it to the short list as we did in 2000.
We were nominated because of our work with the Newcastle upon Tyne NHS. In brief (full project details are available) it was a large project to tackle 3 major hospital sites at once. To convert them from microfilm to digital imaging in a relatively short space of time and tackle a massive legacy archive that stretch over 30 years but we achieved it and were now getting global recognition for the hard work that we put in.
The 2 categories we were entered into were the Document management Project Awards and the Premier Project Award.
After months of nail biting anticipation we were short listed as finalists in both categories and invited to attend an awards ceremony in London to hear the result.
Unfortunately we were not successful in winning our categories but to make it to the finalist stage and lose to Yellow Pages was an achievement to be proud of, for a then little know Document Management Company in the North East of England.
